Both would be great up until the proposal is locked. After that, would love if it could still be edited by the event manager.

Hey ya'll, we're working on this one, however we have a question! Who here would prefer to allow guests to edit the overall quantity or just the quantity on choices? Or both! Let us know your thoughts!

Anna Western The option for both please. Would that allow them to edit their guest count?

Anna Western if we have to pick one, I'd prefer to be able to allow guests to edit the quantity on choices. We could then put all choices in as zero and then let them edit from there.
Anna Western
Elise Munson: Great question! I think it would just be the quantity on the item but we would have to think about that. Would you like them to be able to edit their guest count as well?
Anna Western
Reilly Chunn: You don't necessarily have to pick one. Wondering what you'd like ideally!

Anna Western In my case yes our customers guest count always goes up and down and that would take away back and forth communication with me to change the number. With the option of locking the number when they can no longer change it and maybe putting a cap on how high or low they can go with the count.

Anna Western I think having guests edit both overall quantity and quantity on choices would be great. However, there needs to be approval from the venue before locking it in.
Anna Western
Gabriela Seidel: Interesting... definitely makes sense. We'll think about that, thank you!

New Perfect Venue client here, and in setting my my backend, I realized clients can't really edit much of the proposal, which is kind of a bummer. I 100% would like my customers to be able to edit quantities on the menu, especially the "Choices" part of the proposal, rather than just checking checkboxes. Super important to know quanities on some of those selections! Without the ability for them to do that, I now have extra steps to go through to create the finalized proposal to get amounts on items, which basically just means I have to have more email conversations rather than real time changes in the proposal. With this being the case, I'm not sure the Perfect Venue software will actually work well for my needs.

Yes It would be helpful for guests to update the quantities as desired (with a set minimum requirement from our end).

Nicole Navitsky I totally agree with this!

Hello! My name is Anna and I'm a designer at Perfect Venue. We're working on designs for adding quantities to choices and we've encountered a few questions as we've started to dig into it. If you can provide us with more details about your specific use case it will help us determine the right design solution!
- Would you like quantities to be editable by guests on the proposal, or just by you (the venue) on the Proposal builder?
- Would you like quantities to be limited by the limit set on Choices and look like this: - 1 + ? (best for choosing between options)
- Would you like quantities to be a text field with the ability to enter any amount limited by the item quantity (best for indicating number of guests per choice)
Thank you!

Anna Western: Hi Anna! The ability to have guests adjust the quantities on the proposal, with the -1+ option, would be great. Sometimes guests will send long emails with the quantities they want for each item, so if we are able to send them their proposal and they can go in and edit it, that would save a lot of time on each end. We can then discuss and change if needed closer to the event date.
Anna Western
Kate Bosak: thank you!

Not only is this helpful from the clients prospective, but also for the back of house. The culinary team, needs to know how many of each item they need to prepare for the event.

YES PLEASE! Not allowing guests to adjust quantities from the proposal severely limiting my ability to build out menus :(
