I think limiting the quantities on choices to be no more than menu item total is great, but also have the option to be below. For example: 50 meals. choice:3 vegetarian. Only enter 3 vegetarian and not have to enter in #s for other choices if they will be chosen on site. It tells staff to prepare at least 3 vegetarians meals.

I like the idea of limiting the quantity to the total available. I don't want there to be an option to request more than our supply. Thank you!

Hello,
We are in the process of building this feature and have a question for you.
Should we limit the quantities on choices to be no more than the menu item quantity (ie if you have 50 plated dinners, you could only have 20 chicken plates and 30 beef plates, but not 31 beef plates) OR should you be able to enter in quantities on choices that can be whatever you want?
Thank you for your help!

Luke Hutchison I like the idea of making the choices no more than the menu item quantity

Luke Hutchison Hi Luke - At our restaurant we sell a Dory Boat with oysters, shrimp, and lobster tails. We want to order different quantities of each. For example 1 DORY BOAT has 3 items: 60 oysters, 30 shrimp, and 15 lobster tails. All are priced differently. Hope this makes sense!

- We would prefer to make all updates and changes to the proposal ourselves. If clients do get access to change quantities, I agree with having an adjustable deadline. All menu updates are required 7 days prior to their event.
- Only if the - 1 + is usable through the mobile app. When trying to quickly update the start time, end time, owner or menu item from a mobile device, the drop down list do not always work. I do not want to same issues with quantity
- We are used to entering in the quantities in the text field. We work with per person pricing and prefer to indicate number of guests per choice
Anna Western
Jamie Pugliese: thank you! Would you say that your use case is most typically entering the quantities per guest?
Definitely hear you on mobile usability. We have a clear goal to improve mobile on our roadmap! If you have any specific examples of something not working for you currently feel free to share with me and we can look into it.

Hello! My name is Anna and I'm a designer at Perfect Venue. We're working on designs for adding quantities to choices and we've encountered a few questions as we've started to dig into it. If you can provide us with more details about your specific use case it will help us determine the right design solution!
- Would you like quantities to be editable by guests on the proposal, or just by you (the venue) on the Proposal builder?
- Would you like quantities to be limited by the limit set on Choices and look like this: - 1 + ? (best for choosing between options)
- Would you like quantities to be a text field with the ability to enter any amount limited by the item quantity (best for indicating number of guests per choice)
Thank you!

Anna Western:
- I would like the quantities to be editable just by catering office.
- Yes -1+
- No text
If we do end up having client select their choice quantity, can we have the numbers locked a specific number of days prior to the event so that we know they can't change them the day before?
M
Madison Newell
Anna Western: 1. Just by me (the venue)
- -1+
- optional text could be beneficial
Anna Western
Caroline Shin: thank you!
We're actually planning on working on proposal locking next. So yes, anything we roll out regarding quantities would be locked. Our current vision is to lock the proposal after guest signing, and it becomes unlocked if you resend the proposal. Would that work for your needs? We're trying to keep it simple to start, though I know people have requested locking a specific number of days prior to the event.
Anna Western
Madison Newell: thank you!

Anna Western: That would work for now.

Anna Western:
- Only editable by the venue
- I would prefer a text field if the venue is editing the quantity

- We would prefer to make all updates and changes to the proposal ourselves. I DO NOT WANT GUESTS TO UPDATE THEIR OWN PROPOSALS AT ALL.
- I do not utilize this feature
- no
Anna Western
Megan Hartnett: Hi Megan, thanks for the feedback! So currently there is no functionality yet to choose quantity, so I'm curious what your specific use case for wanting to enter quantity is. If you can share more would love to hear it!

Anna Western: I do not want clients/guests to enter in their quantities because I can assume they will not do it correctly and we only offer limited food options/packages so I do not want them to handle their menu at all. I also can assume they will not enter the quantities at all or in time when we need them which means I would have to reach out to them like I am already doing. I also re-did our entire menu in PV myself and do not want it to change again. thanks
Anna Western
Megan Hartnett: hear you loud and clear! We will definitely not be making quantities editable by default by guests.

YES! Our menu is like this too. We menu packages that are going to require quantities (# of chicken, #of pork plates, etc.) within that order. Right now, I have no way of communicating that information cleanly to the kitchen. I'm going to have to put it in the note section or create another menu "item" just to say that - it's going to be confusing for the kitchen.
