Feature Request: Ability to apply card processing fees to individual payments

We recently started applying a card processing fee to all credit and debit card payments. For contracts where a deposit has already been made, we don't want to apply the processing fee to the entire contract, just certain payments. Right now we're adding this fee as a line-item in the proposal, but would love to see a feature that applies the processing fee to individual payments.
It would also be great if the fee could apply to payment types so if we switch from Card to ACH, the fee automatically disappears.

I recently submitted a feature request asking for the ability to automatically apply payment processing fees (2.9% + $0.30 per transaction) to client contracts so they are responsible for covering this charge. This would help with transparency and streamline the payment process.
I wanted to ask—how are you incorporating this into your proposals? Are you handling it the same way, or have you found an alternative approach?

Green Cheek Beer Co Hi! For all new contracts we're adding it as a fee/tax and applying to every menu item. For existing contracts, we're adding the tax as line items for each payment.

Stephanie Ridgely Hi sorry! I'm having a hard time visualizing this. Could you provide an example? :)

Green Cheek Beer Co Hi Elaine. Absolutely! If a client opts to make a payment via card, we manually add the fee as a menu item (see attached).
We require three different payments throughout the contract so if the first deposit is made via check and the second two are via card, we enter the fee manually for each of the two card payments.
Applying a credit card processing fee as a tax (like sales tax or admin fee) doesn't account for payments already made so it would apply to the whole contract and we don't want to overcharge the client. Hope that helps!

Stephanie Ridgely Awesome, thank you so much! This was helpful :) Hopefully Perfect Venue will update and add this as a feature on the proposals automatically so it doesn't have to me manually done by us.
Thank you again!
